Is it possible to use a spring element that is not bonded to parts in the assembly in Ansys explicit

Hi,

I am modelling an assembly that includes a compression spring that sits between 2 parts - in real life when the assembly impacts the ground and disassembles the spring is floating around and is free to move on its own.
Is it possible to use a spring element to model such behavior (without modelling the actual spring to save run time)?
