I am using Load Express (Trane), Load Express asks for Loss Coefficient (Btu/hr.F.ft) while Elite software (CHVAC) asks for Floor Slab Coefficient. Are they the same meaning? Can anyone explain to me what are the different between them. Thank you very much!!!

If they are used to calculate floor perimeter heat loss to the ground, they should be equal. This heat loss is calculated as linear ft of wall perimeter X the coefficient X the design temperature differential winter outdoor minus indoor temperature. This does not include heat loss through basement wall. It is only for slab on grade heat loss. To include basement heat loss, calculate the total loss by hand and fudge the wall perimeter length such that the program will come out with a heat loss number equal to what you had calculated.
