Good morning,

I'm trying to find out if ASTM A213 is the same as AISI316. I have the spec for ASTM A213 so I'm hoping someone on the site can point me at the spec of AISI316. As always guys thank you for all the help.

The answer to your question is no, they are not the same. AISI316 essentially has no meaning in current times because AISI no longer maintains standards, and even when they did, it was for composition only. ASTM A213 is a product standard that covers composition, heat treatment, mechanical properties, and other characteristics. ASTM A213 does include 5 flavors of 316, so it looks like you have identified a standard that could work.

Thank you so much CoryPad. We are a small company and have limited resources so the engineers on this site are of great value. Thanks again.
