anyone know the workings of a camera iris ? or if you watch stargate. the iris mechanism they have on the stargate?

does anyone have this as a mechanism or able to explain how it works?

Why don't you get an old analog camera from a garage sale or flea market and find out by disassembling? That's the way you usually best learns how stuff works.
