Currently, we are running Inventor 6.0 Service Pack 2 on P4 2.4 GHZ. with a Geforce 4 4200 (128 DDR on Card) and over a Gig of DDR on the board. We have other computers (1.4 GHZ. to 2.0 GHZ) with similar components that perform about the same as the P4 2.4. Our problem is that as file size increases, Inventor slows or stops responding. Our engineers have trouble working on files that are larger than 100 MB and Inventor is unusable on files that are over 140 MB. Our current service provider just informs us that AutoDesk is aware of the "memory leak" and that it will be fixed in Version 7. although, I find it hard to believe that AutoDesk would release a product that would be useable on file sizes that are typical for all users.

Can someone please help. Also, we are running these files from our local machines. Again please help.

Sorry, we are using windows 2000 and XP.

Our top level assemblies are roughly 200kb, with 14000 parts (6000 unique). We did have one particular top level file that hit 3.5M, but I opened a new assembly file and reconstrained it (really easy as we work with sides so we only had to reconstrain 5 assemblies).

If thats not it, what are you creating?
