INTUMSCENT COATING IN GRE PIPING.

Can any body suggest what is the perpose of intumscent coating in GRE piping.I need specification for it and I also want to know difference of price of GRE pipe with and without this intumscent coating

The purpose of an Intumscent coating is to provide fire resistance. I have known it to be used on offshore platform pipework to give up tp 30 minutes protection in a direct oil pool fire.
