intersecting and/or overlapping dimension lines and arrows

I am trying unsuccessfully to find the setting that will insert a gap around intersecting and/or overlapping dimension lines and arrows. Seems to me in past versions I did not have an issue with it. The only thing I can find is in the options dialogue box, under dimensions there is a box that is selected that states “break around dimension arrows only. Selecting and de-selecting has no effect on the overlapping lines on the drawing.

I am using SW2008 sp 4

Any help in pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

After you changed the setting, did you rebuild (ctrl+Q) and/or close, then open, SolidWorks? It could be that your screen didn't refresh properly. Just a guess...
