Apologies to all the US guys, but this is a question for UK engineers...

Because of Mr. Brown's last budjet changes, I am no longer able to work under an umbrella company. I have to set up my own limited company, and to continue trading, I consequently need to get insurance (porfessional indemnity). Just wondering what company others use for such a scenario and what sort of insurance premium I can expect to be paying each month.

If you don't mind, prohammy, I'd like to sneak in under your thread and ask the same of the U.S. engineers that have done this sort of thing...

We use Towergate through the federation of small business. They are well worth looking at joining in my experience, offering, “free” legal and tax advice as well as many other benefits.

Obviously it depends on what you design, I think we pay about £600 PA.
