Hi, my company recently bought a slip table and shaker. I know that the room in which they are to be held must be cool, dry and as close to sound proof as possible due to the noise from the shaker. I also know that the blower needs to be situated outside that room, and that the ground on which the slip table sits must be hard even though the complete system is 500Kg. Is there anything else which would be important when installing the system?

Thanks

Install good lighting. Mount the power sockets at waist height. Mount the table so that your mechanics are in a comfortable position when they work on it. Install an overhead rail plus chain hoist. Install a Faraday cage. Sound deadening is great, but a double wall is better.

Guessing it is an electric shaker, stick the amps somewhere else, or get a mofo a/c unit. Similarly the table probably has an air or oil suspension, get the compressors out of the test room.

A 500 kg table is one of those little ones isn't it?

You might want to have the shaker and table on its own pad, isolated from the rest of the building's pad.

If not said or done yet, have your controller, analyzer, and amplifier in a different room adjacent to the shaker room with a window between them so you can see your whole shaker. This is for both safety and comfort. As for safety, I’ve seen UUTs shake right off the table and turn into projectiles. As for comfort, I’ve been at some places where the controller and analyzer where in the same room and had to run 3 hour random on dish antennas. It was not fun sitting there with hearing protection and still sounds like a jet was taking off.

lol...I hope too that you also have an emergency plunger stop button in the coffee room when you see things go wrong or you’ll have a long way to run. Oh and that would be another good tip, add an emergency stop button to your system. It is easier to locate and hit than trying to shut off the amplifier or by software.
