I was reading the standard ASME B31.1-2010 Power Piping,

In this standard are mostly mentioned the testing about welds,Hydro static Testing and pneumatic testing.

I am interested to know if are other testing methods like charpy test that are necessary.

I mean for fabrication production.

Please your experience can help me :)

Best regards.

There are NDE requirements listed, incluting visual testing. Hardness testing of welds or PQRs is not required. Impact testing of PQRs is not required.

Thanks you weldstan.

I understand but should the manufacturer do the charpy test and chemical test to prove the material required for the pipes ?

And where can i find any material to guide me for the specifications of these tests?

Thanks.
Best regards.

Testing required under the materials specifications must be performed by the pipe manufacturer - not the pipe fabricator.
