While designing the Electrical & Electronic Connectors , What are factors influence the Insertion and Extraction force .

My own experience reveals that the insertion force should be very easy so that all of the connectors will be made. But the extraction force concept *appears* to be to make the conn. resist nearly all human effort short of destroying one or both halves, thus forcing the repairman to either buy a new conn. or simple solder the wires together. <g>

The angle of the taper and height of the bump on the snap fit, the length, shape and thickness of the cantilever arm in the snap fit, and the bearing properties and flex mod of the material.
