Inserting Block

Is it possible to insert a block over a line and have the block automatically break the line?

I.e inserting a N/O relay contact?

There are a number of lisps routines that will actually break the line when inserting a block, but an alternative is to add a wipeout to the block that will hide the line beneath it.
