Insert Statistic Chart

I'm trying to make a histogram of some QC date in Excel 2016. The MS online help says to select the data and Click Insert > Insert Statistic Chart > Histogram. I don't have any "Insert Statistic Chart" option on the Insert tab. Alternatively, you are supposed to be able to pick Insert > Charts > All Charts > Histogram but I have no Histogram option in All Charts. I tried loading the Analysis ToolPak in Addins but that didn't seem to make any difference. And yes, I rebooted but that made no difference either.

On my version it is insert, then in the lower right hand of the charts section there's a weird little icon, hit that for a list of all charts including histogram

On mine, as Greg, then click the All Charts tab, rather Recommended Charts, which is displayed by default.

Alternatively there is a "Statistics Charts" icon in the Charts group on the Insert tab.

That was from the usual chart creation dialog. There's a relatively new icon for Insert Statistic Chart on the ribbon

A nitnoid; the hover bubble says, "Statistic Chart", go into the selection, and it says "More Statistical Charts"

I don't have a statistics chart option. And none of those icons give me a statistics chart option.

In digging around - one suggestion is to turn off "Compatibility View" which does make sense. If it cannot save the new chart format it won't let you create one.

THANKS! It was an .XLS file, I saved it in .XLSX and now I have the histogram graphs. I had to save, exit Excel and restart but it's there.
