Hi

I want to use insert ==>> curve ==>> A text for

building a dial 0 to 360 in 10 deg steps with insert ==>> curve ==>> A text
I tried associative copy ==>> instance geometry but I can not change the A text
to 0,10,20,...,350 (after the instance geometry)

Is there a way to do this

Thanks in advanced

After creating A Text..., use Insert-> Associative Copy-> Pattern Feature...

You might be able to define expressions of 'height', 'width', in relationship to 'radius' so they all change by editing expression values.

Sorry that I confused you
I mean change the text itself to 10,20,30,....
And not the expressions
Thanks in advanced

yes, instancing the geometry, becomes 'geometry' - splines, lines, arcs... but, if you Pattern Feature, you can (although manually) edit the text feature and change the text - nothing automatic that I know of.

Ah... In the Pattern Feature dialog, go to Settings tab and set as shown below: (you may have to re-create the pattern, as I don't think you can edit an existing one to this setting).

Then, you can double-click each one and change as desired. Depending upon how/if you want them linked, you could change the Expressions options that best suits your situation.

Hi Gary

Thank you vary much for your help

Before your help I attended to build it with copy paste
36 times

The feature pattern do not build an object on the model navigator
That mean not parametric but maybe that all NX can suggest

Thank you again

When I click one of the A text I see the associative curves
NX hold them internally.

And I can't reach them

I feel NX need small effort to make it parametric

Yes, it may seem like they are 'associated curves' but, I think NX is attempting to treat them collectively as a 'font'. You can modify only by height, width, bold, italic, etc.. or change font. You would have to edit the font itself to modify the lines in the font (not recommended). Alternately, you could create your own font, if you feel it necessary. The True Type fonts were a nice enhancement from the 'old days'.
