Does someone use Inroads Software? I am looking for a step by step procedure to get surface from our existing cross-sections which i got in Inroads but I have modified them.I am doing road design. thanks

I use Inroads and I am not sure if there is a way to create a surface from cross sections. The cross sections are pictures in space, because Inroads data does not tie into the autocad or microstation display. Did someone give you the cross sections already created or did you create them? You need the point file and breakline file to create a surface.

I’m not an InRoads user but I did see a demonstration from one of our designers. She took a dgn drawing of a bunch of cross-sections that was done in GeoPak and was able to get meaningful information using InRoads. What she did was create a profile/centerline and then cut blank cross-section along it. That created little blank cross-section window/boxes. Then she copied the cross-sections over to these windows and from there she was able to assign them surface and get quantities.
