Injection Molding Book

What isa good book/website, that covers the practical side of injection molding? I just got a job for a company that does a lot of their own molding. I don't need a book with a bunch of formulas, I have one of those, I am looking for a quick reference more or less.

You're going to learn more on the job in the first 2 weeks than a lifetime of books could provide. Don't fake it, just be observant and listen without trying to BS the people who do know.

GE Plastics web site has a good general guide but catching one of the older molding guys at lunch (or after work) with an "extra" beverage will help more. Just ask what things you should be careful of in you designs and listen like ornerynorsk said.

Check out the website for Injection Molding Magazine (

They have many good articles on design, materials, molding, etc. The Troubleshooter column by Bob Hatch is especially helpful/practical. Also, there are several books available from SPE (

http://www.4spe.org)

that focus on the practical side (look for Bill Tobin's books on injection molding, troubleshooting, etc.).
