Any recommendations for cheap software package that can calculate 3D structural element loads similar to car space frames and antenna truss structures constructed from 1x1, 2x2 steel or aluminum (6061-T6) box or angle.

I would like good simple wireframe graphics, buckling considerations and the connection details will be done by hand.

IMO - most civil structural packages are way overkill for my requirements.

Try They have a 3-D package in final development. Their 2D beam and truss programs are easy to use. Down load their evaluation programs (limited nodes).

I have looked at Frameshape's site and am intimidated with the interface especially with the "data file structure".
No graphical input?
Should I be?
