HI,

Does the efficiency of a metal detector (balanced coil) vary with how deeply a metal piece is embedded in the product?

I am working in the food industry and I was wondering if non-magnetic or electrically matter (dry food) could influence our online metal detector.

Thanks,

AP

Anything that can affect a magnetic field can obviously impact the performance. I'd imagine that a liquid or high water content matter would prove very difficult
