While I am not terribly familiar with Random Analysis I think I understand enough to start doing some basic random analysis in Abaqus.

Since I am not too experienced with this I figured I'd ask here before bringing this up to the customer.

I have an example customer requirement of:
Random Vibration: Grms = 3 (all orientations)

To me this spec is not complete. I believe that I need some frequencies (or range of frequencies) that this applies to. I am used to seeing a PSD or frequency plot but maybe there are other ways like calling out a standard that has that info in it.

Am I right in thinking this? Is this spec pretty much useless as-is?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

totally useless indeed. you need the ASD (freq & g^2Hz) turning pts. (which grms will be 3)

That's what I thought, thank JXB0809.
