Dear ABAQUS experts,
i have imported an IGES file of the geometry into ABAQUS. The geometry is that of fibers in a matrix block (think SWISS CHEESE). When i mesh this geom, ABAQUS gives elements with no node connectivity when i use HEX elements and when i tried TETS there is connectivity. However, when i apply an outward Pressure on any face, the fibers seem to peel off from the matrix block. Its clear that Nodes are not being merged at the fiber-matrix interface. I think these duplicate nodes can be merged: so
1) can anybody tell me how?
2) why is mesh not compatible between the matrix and fiber region, how can this be fixed.
