Jane's might prove interesting although I don't know that this project ever went into production. The lab where it was being researched was within bicycling distance of my home when I was in my early teens and was a source of intrigue to me and a few friends who knew about it. Later, I worked with a former employee from that lab and althought he stuck by his security oath, if I asked the right questions the response would tell me that I was on the right track. Clues obtained from observations and sources such as Chem Abstracts led me to the gelled propane/high energy fuels idea and my friend told me that he "might happen to know exactly what would happen if you did that" althought he would say no more. Also Kirk Othmer has a reference in the "Chemicals in War" section to the U.S. Army's "Controlled Fireball Destruction Mechanism" which was an artillery deliverable replacement for Napalm, which had delivery problems from aircraft (low and slow for best effect but also one becomes a better target that way).
Capnbob45
capnbob45@hotmail.com
