I just beaning to use 2005 autodesk format.
Wonder what step by step in placing a second floor on top of ground floor ? What if your second floor lay 2 feet back and do not line up with the corner oif the first floor?

Hi,
there are several ways to achieve that.
an easy way is to create two separated drawings, one for the ground floor and other for the second floor using the same insertion/commom point.
Then in a third drawing you would bring in the floors as references -attached or overlayed, and would only have to set the insertion Z coordinate value to the second floor - as 8 feet or 10 feet or whatever height you need - when using a TOP view
if they are missaligned, choose one as the base to attach as a reference in the othwer floor then move it to align , and making sure that the Z value is zero. Actually you can set now the elevation to the proper height, and avoid to mess with the insertion Z value when x-referencing in the final drawing
