What is the procedure for importing a SolidWorks model into Adobe Illustrator?

Our product was designed using SW "08" and our instruction/user manuals are designed using Illustrator.

Any information would be appreciated.

PDF goes nicely into Illustrator.

SW can also save as Illustrator (.ai) files.
I believe parts and assembly files are saved as images, and drawings and sketches are saved as vectors.

What we do for our catalog and trifolds depends on what we're giving our graphic designer. If it's a dimensional drawing we'll either give him a dxf or AI file. He usually has to work with the line thickness's to "crisp" them up a bit though.

If it's a nice pretty picture we'll give him a tiff image.

hope this helps....

TIFF - when colors and shades are needed.
DXF - when lineart only is needed.

results in a nice picture.
