I have an xls file i am trying to import into Autocad lite
I have been partially successful but only Some of the cells appear in the drawing. When i double click on the ole in the drawing it takes me back to the xls file which still has all the cells. Can anbody help.

I came across this tip in the Autodesk Discussion Group web page.
I have seen this question asked many times but this is the best answer I have seen to date. I am posting it here as a quote:

"I have found that using Word and Excel, I copy the document / info to the clipboard (ctrl+c), go back to autocad and choose 'EDIT'-'PASTE SPECIAL'. In the dialog that comes up, choose 'AUTOCAD ENTITIES' and presto, the doc is in the drawing. There are specific limitations regarding the amount of information that can sucessfully be transferred via this method, (actual size of the windows clipboard) but I found that it was less frustrating."

There is one caveat and that is the maximum amount of information that can be copied. On my computer, it was approximately 50 lines of text.

PROBLEMS WITH COPY PASTE FROM EXCEL TO ACAD

THIS MAY BE OF NO HELP BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT USING MICROSOFT RADIO BUTTONS IE THE COPY AND PASTE BUTTONS SEEMS TO MESS UP ALL FORMS OF
INSERTED OLE's SOLUTION SO FAR THAT I HAVE FOUND IS TO HIGHLITE THE MATERIAL TO COPY MOVE CURSOR TO BLANK CELL OR PART OF DOCUMENT TO BE COPIED THEN RIGHT CLICK AND COPY- GO TO CAD AND PASTE
