Does any know if it is possible to import a solid Mechanical desktop Model into Pro Mechanica with a view to converting this model again into a plate element model for the purpose of analysis.

If your Mechanical Desktop comes with the IGES translator, you can type igesout at the Mechanical Desktop command prompt and then INSERT - DATA FROM FILE - IGES in Pro/Engineer. I am assuming you are using Pro/E 2001 and although I have not used Mechanical Desktop for years the igesout command should work.

Post again if this does not work or you if have problems.
