Hi Gents,

I would like firstly to introduce you to one system we have in our plant.
A sundyne compressor LMC-343 (in line single stage compressor driven by 5.5Kv motor) is used for regeneration.
It is equipped with a tandem dry gas seal (API Plan 52) which is splitted to process seal, intermediate seal and gearbox seal.Nitrogen is used during the whole operation between process seal and intermediate seal.
I wonder what is the importance of keeping the nitrogen circulating during normal operation and not only using it during the start up?
It seems to me that removing oxygen by circulating the nitrogen during the start up is sufficient and my other doubt,is nitrogen used for cooling?

Your help will be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Adamia
