Hello,

At first i would like to say that i like this forum and until today i had a lot of support from it.

I have the follow issue.
At my workstation i use NX6 and acad 2014.

In the register of my company we save files in a mastermodel structure. Often our supliers send us dxf files with a step file. We need to convert (import it in NX) the DXF as a drawing and the stp as my model. But the translater does not support dxf files on the right way, my text and dimesnions are a total mess. I would only like to see the picture of my dxf with the right dimensions.

Convert to CGM is no option (File size is way to large), explosion in acad doenst work on the right way.

Is there a way (or and other translator file) to import my dxf on the right way?

I have the 2d exchange option but this is only for export right?
Iam reading a lot about the problems with dxf's on this forum. Isnt there a way to see a nice view from pdf, dxf, dwg in NX with a reasonable file size.

Under the startmenu there is a translater. There i can select a text font (this is where it seems to go wrong), is that an option?

It has been a while since I needed to use the dxf translator, but I am quite sure that 2D Exchange can be used both ways.
If I remember correctly I had better results from a .dwg file than a .dxf

Have you tried eDrawings? In your original post you stated that: "I would only like to see the picture of my dxf with the right dimensions."

eDrawings is a free dxf/dwg viewer that should let you see what the dxf looks like. From eDrawings you can make a PDF or print the drawing. It will open the drawing much quicker than importing into NX.

If you NEED to have the drawing in NX, I would recommend using NX9. NX 9 has the AutCAD import/export wizard. It allows you to preview the result prior to importing. It has many great features to try when translating your dxf or dwg. There are options for fonts as well. See import/export window below. (I went from NX 7.5 to NX9, it is possible 8 or 8.5 has this too)

Thanks for the reactions, but no i want to see it in nx :)
My company works in NX6 and i also have Acad to view and modify dxf's.

The archive system whitin the company is based on nx files, thats why i need this.
Yesterday i started to redraw al the dxf's :(
