We are going fabricate a SS316L/SS310 vessel with MDMT= -300F using GTAW and SAW. The vessel meets the requirements of UHA-51(g), stress ratio less than 0.35.

First clarification: Per UHA-51(g) the base metal, WPS and production welds do not need to be qualified by impact testing but do the welding consumables still required to be pre-use impact tested per UHA-51(f)?

Second: Does UHA-51(f)(2) require the use of impact qualified WPS in production? Figure JJ-1.2-3 seems to imply that this is a requirement.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you
