Impact testing of Concrete Tube (bridge collision)
A 45,000-pound, steel-reinforced, C-shaped concrete tube for the new We Energies power plant in Oak Creek on a lowboy truck trailer hit a railroad overpass at 25 to 30 miles per hour and wedged underneath. Pretty severe, note that the trailer body is now resting on the pavement.
No details on the type of concrete or purpose of the tube (cooling water, scrubber...?).
A bit of spalling.
