Impact factor for Gantry

Anyone have any clue what is used for an impact factor on outdoor gantry crane wheel loads?
 
This has been discussed many times - but I think it is 1.5 or 2. Check your local code book.
 
I'm not having much luck Mike.
Any of the major codes have provisions for this?
 
Why wouldn't the impact factor be the same as for an indoor crane?
 
I was just pointing out that it was an outdoor gantry.
I have worked with cranes a fair amount but to this point, I have never had to design and supporting structures for a gantry.
 
The outside gantry crane we use has a wheel load impact allowance of 15 percent, added to the static loads. (I assume it's dependent on CMAA Class Service)
 
IBC 2009 1607.8.2 says 100% for elevators, 50% for power driven units

I would probably use 100% - steel is cheap!
 
I'd say treat it the same as an overhead crane and use the impact factor for cab, pendant or remote operated.
