Hi,
I am currently performing a high speed metal to metal impact on a landing gear component using ABAQUS. At the present moment I am having problems stabilizing the crater stresses. Running the simulation long enough is not an option as I have already tried it before and got the same problem, plus it is computationally very expensive.
Does anyone know any stabilization techniques? I am currently considering adding Rayleigh damping but again unable to find the alpha and beta coefficients corresponding to the material used(Steel 300M).
Help will be greatly appreciated.
