Fresh install of s/w 2004 after installing a new hard drive. Prior to this everything worked fine. But now it will not open iges files.

How are you trying to open the IGES files? By double clicking, or by the regular SW File > Open > Type:igs method?

Did you remeber to disable the anti-virus before installing SW?

Also, is this iges file a known good file or something that you just downloaded from the net?

make sure to check your iges options when opening the file. There's an option button in the file open dialog panel
