I WANT TO REMOVE A FLYOUT BOX

I have done this before but I cannot find or remember how to do this.
When I select a face there is a box with a leader pointing to the face showning the color and texture choices, this flyout box drives me nuts and I want it to go away.
Sure would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.
