Hello new friends I am basically a retied mechanic with a mission but I lack the theory knowledge of you chaps, I know the questions to ask but not the answers. You may say that I am mad but I need to find out more about roll centres etc because I am building a new vintage style vehicle from existing components on my own chassis but need to use larger diameter wheels and tyres than the existing set up had so the ride height is higher to start with, plus no room for power steering so have made a manual rack with all the same dimensions as the original so how can I change the geometry figures to assist the turning effort at the steering wheel I am using a larger steering wheel, skinny stiff wall tyres the rack has 3 turns lock to lock so it may be heavy but you have not got to turn it far is there any where to look to find theary explained simply as I said I am good with my hands the head is a different matter. The idea is to use all ford complete rear suspension set up the complete front cross member and suspension bolted to my chassis that’s the idea!
