I-joist at collector strap

I am designing a roof system for a storage unit. I spec'd out RFPI that are 15" deep. The EOR will not sign off on this design because he is now requiring a 2200 siesmic load added onto these I-joist. The beam software I am running does not allow any axial loads on I-joists. The EOR is calling for Simpson PAI35 coonectors at each end of the I-joist.

How do I design this I-joist for an axial load?
Are I-joist even rated for axial loads?
Is there a standard for this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the manufacturer and find out if their product is rated for such a load. I know that Trusjoist makes an I-joist that is rated. You have to add filler material for a specified distance at the ends where the strap is connected.
