The word Trennschaltverstärker means "Isolating Switch Amplifier" and, as Scotty says, probably needs two distinct impedances to work reliably. BTW, the resistors are 1 and 10 kiloohms. That makes for a better ON/OFF ratio than the 1k+1k mentioned.
Sorry to be of such little use. But a system working with oil may need an isolation amplifier. And the one used here needs the two resistors for reliable operation. Have a look at the specifications for the system.
