I-Deas NX5 Non-linear

I've been trying to get a small model (~600nodes) to run nonlinear using I-Deas NX5. Unfortunately, it takes about 3hrs to solve. There is contact between two components and I'm using "Load control". One thing I'm noticing is that the ideasxxx.app file is getting to ~2GB in size, yet when I run a static analysis on significantly larger models, the ideasxxx.app file stays relatively small. I'm not sure if this relates to my runtime issue. Any suggestions would be helpful.
