I can't get the ends right on a torsion spring...help! 1

I can get the spring modeled, but I can't get the ends right. They need to be 110 degrees apart and they have U shaped ends.
 
An image or the actual file would help explain your question.

Try creating a 'skeleton' layout of the helix and 2D sketches of the ends, on planes which are angled to suit. These can then be converted into a single 3D sketch path for sweeping the profile.
 
As per CBL's suggestion, here's a Torsion Spring with looped ends.

Took a bit of finagling to get the (2Dd Sketch) Ends correct and in the right Plane relative to the Helix so that the Sweep sections remain tangent to one another.

Depending on your definition of 110°, the straight portions of the Ends (where they leave the Helix) are controlled by the Revolution setting in the Helix feature. For this sample, I used 6.1944 for Revolutions [6 + ((180 - 110) / 360)] which gave ~ 110° in the Right Plane.
This number may need to be slightly altered to get the exact angle, because of how the Planes that were used to construct the ends where set.

I know they're downloadable pro|e models are ridicilously intelligent (read: parameterized), perhaps they are the same in Solidworks.

No sense modeling something you can get for free.

On second thought, I would guess that somebody has uploaded what you are looking for on 3dcontentcentral too.

I have two torsion spring models in my model stash:

"TorsionSpringByTheTick.zip"
"Hinge.Zip" contains a barrel-shaped torion spring

Both springs have adjustable positions.
