I have very few experience of designing a bearing support plate for an aluminum column structure. I have to design the steel support and anchor bolts to concrete slab for the aluminum cloumin. The column is about 10 feet high, subjected to self and wind load. Any previous thread or any design material for me to read? Thank you for all your help.
My approch is to calculate the overturning moment excerted on the plate, and from that to determine the size of the bolt needed. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

You probably should be talking to a senior engineer in your company.

Sparkco...I'm sure you would like to figure this out on your own or with minimal help; however, a forum such as this is no place to learn structural engineering. We don't know where you are located, what codes you must design to, or any specifics of your structure other than you have an aluminum column for which you want to design a base plate and anchor bolts.

Even if someone here wanted to help you a bit, you have given insufficient information.

I agree with sdz...consult someone in your company or locally that can walk you through this process.
 
The column would be designed as a beam-column because of the significant moment caused by the lateral loading.

In addition, the column and anchor rods would have to be isolated from the concrete. Galvanic corrosion could be an issue as well as chemical corrosion (concrete and alumninum are not 'friends').
