Guys,

maybe deviated from the subject of this forum... but

has someone worked with the setting of user variables in HYSYS ? I do not have any info on how to work with HYSYS VB language and its objects. Can you advise me, please, where can I get such info?

thanks,
Joisy

If all you want to do is communicate between Excel and HYSYS, then go to the Hyprotech website and download the HYSYS browser. It adds several funtions to Excel that allows you to get and set values in a HSYSY case. It also has a form that allows you to choose the objects and properties.

I do need to set up some internal macros in HYSYS, which will change the flowrate in accordance with some variable (this var is to be calculated after the execution of a particular stream)

thanks,
Joisy

The documentation of the HYSYS VB is a little awkward and spread out. Your best option (that is how I worked with it) is to look in the HYSYS knowledge base ( which is now copied and expanded to support.aspentech.com, and find some examples on user variables.
There is also a help file (help on extending HYSYS, or xhysys.hlp in the HYSYS directory) that gives some clues.
I have not really worked with it sufficiently to tell you exactly how to solve your problem, but I hope this points you in the right direction.
By the way, as you said, it is not an excel issue, so strictly speaking this thread belongs in the Hyprotech products forum, quod non.

Re. what I just said: not easy to find the documentation. You may want to take a look in the Customization Guide, which is part of the normal HYSYS documentation (the PDFs on the CD)

Good luck

Or use the Adjust (see thread798-67310) [duh][tongue]
