I’d like to know if HYSIS simulation programme can do the following:
"Hysys simulation software has been designed not only as a simulator but also as a database to allow efficient transfer of data to the process deliverables:

The simulator can automatically transfer process data from the simulator to process datasheets; size process lines automatically; generate design conditions for datasheets and LDTs; Generate equipment lists and process data sheets, etc."
If so who did this before?

Regards

while not a user of hysis . . .

i've witnessed several cases of a process engr that transferred data from a hysis simulation into excel and then wrote vba code to manipulate the data and create equipment lists, preliminary equipment/pipe sizes, equipment data sheets (eventually transferred to api data sheets), etc. i do not know where this process engr is working at today, but probably could find out.

i did want you to know what you described is possible. it is a matter of determining how the hysis program writes data to a file format suitable for importing into excel. perhaps hysis has the capability to export/import data with excel directly, i do not know.

hope this helps.
good luck!

Yes, you can easily setup an OLE/Automation link to HYSYS from excel. Most of the objects in HYSYS are accessible via OLE. Look on the support website and the Help on extending HYSYS on how to do this.
Aspen/Hysys/Hyprotech have developed quite a few applications demonstrating this interface, and these VB codes are freely accessible.

Cheers,
Joerd
