I have a flanged ring test piece that will be bolted to a pressurised item, to hydro test it in workshop at 1630psi with water, prior to return the pressurised item to service after rebuild. Less than 100 uses through life.

What are the requirements for initial test of the flanged ring test piece (mild steel,no welds involved)? It is difficult to test it to greater than 1630psi without overstressing one of the production item or building an imitation production item as a test piece for the test piece.

Also what is the usual practice for periodicity of inspection of pressure test equipment?
