Hydrostatic and pneumatic test

Hi,

I'm working about hydrocarbon counting system and I would like to know the pressure level for pressure test (hydro and pneumatic). There are two cases:

1)Gas hydrocarbon:
Pressure Nominal: 100 bars, Class ANSI600

2)Liquid hydrocarbon:
Operating Pressure:60 bars
Pressure Design: 100 bars, Class ANSI600 (For component selection)

Particulary, for liquid hydrocarbon, should I carry out the pressure test as operating pressure would be 100 bars?

I think you should follow the rules and guidelines of the pressure vessel desing code the units were constructed to meet.

In the case of the liquid hydrocarbon, the fact that the normal operating pressure ( today ) is only 60 bars does not mean that it will never operte in the future at its desing pressure of 100 bar or at the relief vale overpressure case of ( 120 bar ?). The proof test is meant to show that the vesel is adqquate for the design pressure stamped on its nameplate- someday someone willcertainly operate it at the 100bar pressure. I would rather have it fail with hydrotest water than with a liquid hydrocarbon.
 
is a hydrocarbon counting system a METER (not meter as in lenght?
 
The more typical description would be "flow meter", or "custody transfer flow meter" if the HC stream is being measured for a change of fiscal responsibility of the fluid, or for settling payment between parties on change of ownership.
