We apply a hydrophobic coating to a 3-foot dia. tempered glass. We are having difficulties yielding a clear glass after application. The hydrophobic coating is "cloudy" after application. We have tried applying a small amount, letting it dry for 30 seconds, then buffing. We have tried applying a large amount and hand buffing immediately, and we have tried combinations of the two methods. Approximately 10 minutes prior to application, we do clean the glass with denatured alcohol(which we understand is the main component of the coating). The hydrophobic coating is stored in an airtight 55 gallon drum, but on the assembly line it is stored in a 1 gallon plunger style container. The manufacturer has not been helpful. Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
