It has been a long time since I tested OCR's (about 20 years ago). I went back and looked it up in an old McGraw Edison book. They say it should take approximately 1 minute per operation to reset. Therefore, after one shot it should take 1 minute to reset. If you went two shots it should take 2 minutes etc. There are a couple of variables. The older the recloser, probably the more wear on the trip piston, which means the oil can "leak" around the piston for a faster reset. If the oil is cold it leaks slower and thus a longer reset. If you got to lock out the reset is fast because there is a hole that allows the oil out from under the trip piston. Hope this helps. By the way, the electronic reclosers have programmable reset times that go from 0 to 180 seconds.
