Friends,
I work in a natural gas processing plant. We have a problem of fouling in our gas gas exchhanger which is a multi pass plate and frame Aluminium brazed exchanger. One stream gets cooled and 3 other streams are warmed up.I would like to know how to determine whether the fouling or increase in pressure drop is due to hydrate formation apart from scale and debris.I am willing to share the temperatuure and pressure of all streams alongwith gas composition if anybody could help out on this.
thanks in advance

Dont you have access to a process simulation tool? Most of these can make a hydrateformation curve.

Best regards

Morten

Give the details of the gas parameters and we may be able to help.

There are 2 sides of a coin
One is to give, one is to take
Give until it hurts with a smile

The GPSA handbook also is a good source for initial estimates of hydrate formation.

Cheers,
Joerd
