The STEP translator external to NX, but comes with it, should do it.
I am not on NX11, so I hope I am guiding you correctly here.
Go to the lower left corner of your WINDOWS screen, and click on the WINDOWS symbol
SEIMENS NX11 -> STEP AP214 -> IMPORT . . .

Jerry thank you.

I tried to directly open it and
Take time but it's succeed to
Load.

But now I want to save it as a SOLIDWORKS
But I don't see this option in the
Nx11 save as.

I wonder because I think I was
Seen that in the past.

If you want to save it as a SolidWorks file after you open it up in NX
You will have that option if you do a SAVE AS, and select it from the pull-down.
but only if you are working in Native and not in TeamCenter

I am in native.
But in the save as pull down menu
I don't see any SOLIDWORKS type.
Thank you.

Do you have the SolidWorks license?
Is SolidWorks loaded on your computer?

Another option is to SaveAs to a Parasolid file and import that into SolidWorks or just import the STEP file to SolidWorks.

Hi looslib and thank you.

Actually I am trying to help a friend
That has a SOLIDWORKS and a 600M step
file but he can't load it so
I tried nx and I succeed to load it

And now I seeking a way to help him
to be able load it.

Any help
Thank you

There is no Save As in NX to Solidworks file types and there is no module you can buy to do that either.
As Looslib suggested, your only option is to use a neutral file type like parasolid or make smaller stp files.

Hi PhoeNX and thank you.

I'll try this way.

Thank you.

Hi
Can someone clear this phenomenon.
In order to help my friend
I devided the part to 8 parts
And then saved each one as a step
Format and the some weight of
The 8 step files is about 500M
Where the original weight only
200M.

Thank you.

Because the software you are using has it's own notion of what should be in the STEP file. It might just be that the software is padding real numbers out to extra digits that the original software did not do. Or it might be taking one format for surfaces and edges and having converted them to the internal format, writes them out as something completely different.

I could give a square as (0,0), (1,1) as opposite corners or (0.0000000000000, 0.0000000000000), (1.0000000000000, 1.0000000000000) for a huge change in file size with no change in information.

In short, STEP files are not unique when describing the geometry.

It may also be that the software has added default color information for each element. Or some other factor.

It's easier to see if you can get the original STEP file maker to send a file of a cube, which you then read in and then create a new STEP file from. STEP files are in plain text and a text editor can be used to examine the contents. For simple geometry they are easy to read.

Hi 3DDave and very very thank you.

From your explanation it follows that
the same geometry can be exported
to small size step file and also
to big size step file.
according the notion.

and any cad software can loading
both the small one and the big one.

Is that true.
Thank you.

I mean if the small one loaded
Then also the big one should be loaded.

Do someone has more experience
On this issue.?

Thank you in advance.
