I have been doing HUD approved foundation designs for new mobile homes for a few months now. However, I have not done a retrofit design yet. The current structure is a 27'x72' and sits on dry stacked blocks. I have researched numerous techniques to bring this foundation into compliance for financing. The simplest way for my contractor and hopefully more cost effective, is to dig and pour reinforced "mats" next to the existing dry stacked blocks. Then stack new blocks. Also, dig and pour "mats" for the tie downs. It is even suggested to outline the newly stacked blocks with 1/4" surface bonding cement. However, the MP 907f is out of date and I can't find new information on HUDs website or from anyone that I call who is employed by HUD.
Keep in mind that for new designs... continuous runners are used for FHA loans and continuous runners along with a monolithcally poured perimeter footing is used for USDA lonas.
Does anyone do these on a usual basis and have any suggestions? I have the Permanent Foundations Guide... I have gotten many different interpretations on Section 503-4.
Thanks in advance.
