Anyone have any experience with Bi-2223/Ag tape coils? I'm new to the whole HTS tape process. Flexibilty sounds like a big issue as the tape seems to be a little on the fragile side. Racetrack coils seem to be for larger applications and seem to be quite a process with layering and epoxy injections. Could HTS tape be fabricated more along the lines of traditional coil styles and still have the impressive results in a smaller application? Does skewing the tape on the cage have any effect on harmonics and starting torque as it does in conventional machines?
