HP 8711A / F cal kit 1

The data format required by the HP 8711A family is different from that of the HP 8753x series. I was trying to help someone to be able to use his 8711A with the F cal kit HP 85039A and I actually sent him an extra disk (used with the HP 8753x ) that I had for the kit, but it wouldn't work with his model.

Agilent won't help because the 8711A and 85039A are out of support now.

The 8711A cannot read the disk you created. In order to load a new cal kit into an 8711, you need to create the disk file manually in its special format. I've never done it, but it doesn't look that hard. From the Agilent web site, download the 8711C Programming Guide. In the "Example Programs" chapter, there is a "CALKIT" example program. Just copy it and change the numbers to match the 85039A numbers. I'm sure you can find the cal kit manual on the Agilent web site also. If not, you can download my VNA Cal Kit Manager program, and read the numbers from it.
